WhyPark Hacks: Affiliate Widgets to Replace Stock Photos

A WhyPark customer brought to my attention a really slick modification where he replaced the stock images with an Amazon affiliate widget. This is a great way to add CPA to your sites along with the CPC income currently being generated. Here are some of his sites; I encourage you to visit by clicking the screen shot because the widget fades to a new book about every three seconds.

This is an extremely creative way to use WhyPark and best of all it's pretty easy to implement. In the "Layout" section of a specific domain, find the [[image]] placeholder in the Page Layout HTML. Replace the [[image]] placeholder with the HTML or JavaScript that is provided by your affiliate program.

With a little extra work you can now get some Pay Per Action revenue in addition to the Pay Per Click revenue you're now earning.

A Note from Josh:

Alan,
Thanks for highlighting my WP sites. I'm glad you found the tip about using Amazon widgets useful.

Best,
Josh

Hi Joshua:

Thanks for the tips. I gave two of your sites some backlinks in the blog post. If you have any other nifty tips let me know and I'll do another post with different sites you own.

It was this post that started me on my path to integrate some widgets into my Whypark sites. Thanks for the great post and all the ideas it spawned!
